Makhteshim wins BASF infringement case

Makhteshim Agan Group (MAI) said this week that it won a fipronil patentinfringement case brought against it by Germany's BASF and Bayer Crop-Science in April 2010. The US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina ruled in favour of MAI North America and its US subsidiary, Control Solutions Inc, finding that its fipronil insecticide does not infringe on BASF and Bayer's patents. BASF said it will appeal the decision.
