NIOSH recommends open design for mineral processing facilities

Mineral process-ing facilities with an open structure,or no walls,are healthier in regards to dust and noise levels,a recent report from NIOSH suggested.In its study,NIOSH evaluated three types of silica sand product-sizing facil- ity structures:masonry,steel-sided and open design.Compared with the other two designs,an open structure was considered superior from a dust and noise health standpoint,NIOSH said.
