How a National Emphasis Program works

A National Emphasis Program is an OSHA directive providing guidance to agency regional administrators and area directors to ensure established procedures in the instruction are followed in all inspections,compliance investigations and on-site consultation visits where a potential for overexposure to a workplace hazard exists.Regional administrators also must ensure state consultation program managers and the State Plan state designees in their regions are apprised of the contents of the NEP.
