DOT announces small-business funding for innovative research

WASHINGTON - On March 17,the Department of Transportation announced us3.5 million in funding for innovative research to help enhance the safety and efficiency of the U.S.transportation system.The Small Business Innovation Research program encourages U.S.-owned businesses with 500 or fewer employees to engage in research and development activities that have the potential to produce commercially viable applications,as well as meet federal research objectives.
