Washington - A debate has intensified regarding the best way to promote and enforce worker safety in poultry processing plants. The rhetoric escalated when a group of 15 organizations called for a formal response to its request that OSHA develop a work-speed standard for meatpacking and poultry plants. The group sent a letter to OSHA on Dec. 17 asking for a response to its rulemaking petition within 90 days.
