Niosh unveiled a new computer-based program designed to train mine superviors in the proper actions to take during underground mine emergencies. The program, called Mine Emergency Response Interactive Training Simulation or MERITS, is an interactive program that simulates underground and surface activity at a mine when an emergency occurs.
