Speed bumps improve safety

According to a new study published in the American Journal of Public Health (Vol.94,No.4),children who live on streets near where speed bumps are installed are up to 60 percent less likely to be injured by an automobile than those who live in areas without them.The study was conducted during a 5-year period among children seen in pediatric emergency rooms after being struck by an automobile.
