New Ebola guidelines aim to protect health care workers

Atlanta - Following two cases in which U.S. nurses were infected with the Ebola virus, several agencies have bolstered their infection-control guidelines for health care workers. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new guidelines Oct. 20, calling for frequent training, zero skin exposure and consistent supervision. Four days later, the Inter-Agency Board for Equipment Standardization and Interoperability released a new set of recommendations for using personal protective equipment.
