Syngenta will implement its restructuring programme entitled Accelerating Operational Leverage which aims to improve efficiency but will result in the loss of 1800 out of 28,000 jobs. Syngenta employs 3400 staff in Switzerland where the workforce will be cut by 500 employees at the facility in Basel. Jobs will be transferred abroad. Other sites in Monthey, Stein and 4 other facilities in Switzerland will not be affected.
