CROP PROTECTION IN NORTHERN BRITAIN: A REVIEW OF THE RECENT DUNDEE CONFERENCE

As an exiled Scot, I am well used to forecasts that show extreme contrasts in weather between the northern and southern halves of Britain. The recent imposition of a hose pipe ban in large tranches of eastern England, while flood warnings were being issued in Scotland illustrate the dramatic differences that can occur in the British climate. So a conference that focuses on crop protection problems in the northern parts of Britain can justifiably claim that it caters for local needs.
