Injury risks to horse vets high: study

LONDON - More than one-fifth of all injuries sustained by Australian veterinarians involved working with horses, a study has found. According to the study from the University of Western Australia in Crawley and the Nedlands-based Western Australian Institute for Medical Research, 453 of the 2,188 "serious" injuries reported in a study on Australian veterinarians' health risks involved horses. Of the 1,583 injuries associated with all animals in general, those involving horses made up 28.6 percent.
