ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE IS AN under-recognized problem in Ontario and the rest of Canada, says veterinarian Dr. Katharine Found in her opening speech to producers at this year's Cow-Calf Roadshow, hosted by the Ontario Cattlemen's Association. The resistance of antibiotics is growing among a multitude of bacteria. And while some antibiotic resistance is directly and exclusively related to human medicine, it also has its source in veterinary medicine and agriculture.
