General Nitrogen (N) recommendations are a good starting point for choosing a nitrogen fertilizer rate for your farm, but we know there is significant variation from farm to farm in the actual optimum rate. With tools available today, you can fine-tune the rates for your own farm. It takes a reasonable amount of care, however, to ensure the numbers you generate are meaningful.
