Alkali metal complexes: mixed ligand complexes of alkali metal salts of 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthaquinone wiht oxygen donor ligands

A number of mixed ligand alkali metal complexes of the type ML.nHL~1, where M=Li,Na or K.L=2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthaquinone.n=1 or 2 nad HL'=acetyl acetone,benzoyl acetone,ethylacetoacetate,salicylaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde have been synthesised and characterised.IR spectra of these complexes suggest that hydrogen bonding is an essential feature for their stability.
