摘要

Nine complexes each of Ni(II),Zn(II) and Cd(II) with the composition [ML_2X_2] where M=Ni(II),Zn(II) or Cd(II),L= 2-amino-5-benzoylbenzimidazole (ABBI),and X= Cl~-,Br,I~-,NCS~-,NO_3~-,CH_3COO~-HCOO~-,ClO_4~- or 1/2 SO_4~(2-) and nine complexes of Ni (II) having composition [Ni L'X_2] where L'=2-(2'-hydroxynaphthylazo)-5-benzoylbenzimidazole and X= Cl~-,Br,I~-,NCS~-,NO_3~-,CH_3COO~-,HCOO~-,CIO_4~- or 1/2 SO_4~(2-) have been synthesised and characterized.Systematic analytical procedures like cation,anion estimations,molar conductance and magnetic susceptibility measurements,IR,UV-visible,NMR spectral studies,have been used to arrive at the conclusions regarding the structure of the complexes.Overall investigations confirm bidenticity of both the ligands,coordinated nature of the different anions and distorted octahedral geometry of the complexes.
