Fertilizer scheduling in rainfed rice grown under broadcast-beushaning system

摘要

The results of an experiment on fertilizer scheduling in rainfed rice conducted at Kendrapara, Orissa, revealed that application of all P as basal, half NK at beushaning (cross-wise ploughing with a bullock-drawn wooden plough followed by planking and gap filling) and the rest of the NK at panicle initiation, with the recommended dose of fertilizer (60-13-25 kg NPK ha-1), increased the number of productive panicles, grain yield (3.97 t ha-1) and net returns in broadcast beushaned medium duration improved rice cv. Sima. Application of fertilizer at 15 kg N ha-1 at panicle initiation according to farmers' practice gave a yield of 3.04 t ha-1 in local cv. Saruchina and 3.42 t in cv. Siwa.
