Mycopathogen, Metarhizium anisopliae was evaluated against brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens in paddy. Significantly less number of BPH were seen in plots treated with the higher dosage of M. anisopliae ( @2 chi 10~(12) conidia ha~(-1)) when compared to untreated check. This higher dose of the fungus was as effective as lower dosage used in sequence with chemical pesticide but was inferior to insecticide alone in reducing hopper population. Grain yield from higher dosage of M. anisopliae was significantly higher than lower dosage and untreated check. However, it was lesser than insecticide treatments alone or insecticide sequenced with lower dosage of M. anisopliae.
