Results of field trials revealed that Pusa basmati-1 and IET13548 (semi dwarf) recorded significantly higher grain yield over the mean grain yield of Taroari basmati (tall) a scented rice variety. Crop planted on July 15 recorded significantly higher grain yield. Application of graded levels of nitrogen increased grain yield linearly up to 90 kg N ha~(-1). Pusa Basmati-1 and IET 13548 recorded grain quality traits comparable to Taroari basmati. However, IET13548 recorded maximum values of grain elongation ratio and volume expansion (4.25). July 25 planting date recorded higher values of grain quality traits as compared to July 15 planting date. Graded levels of nitrogen could not influenced various grain quality traits.
