Field experiments on the effect of sources of phosphorus at three rates of application (0, 30 and 60 kg P2O5 ha-1) on growth, grain yield and phosphorus-use-efficiency of rice and residual effects of the sources and rates of phosphorus on herbage yield of cowpea (dry season) revealed that P sources (superphosphate, diammonium phosphate, urea nitrate phosphate and ammonium polyphosphate) did not influence significantly the grain yield of rice or the cowpea fodder yield. Yields increased with up to 30 kg P2O5/ha.
