Effect of planting time and nitrogen level on physiological parameters and grain yield of hybrid rice

Experiment conducted at I.G.A. U., Raipur during wet season to find out the combined effect of planting times and nitrogen levels on hybrid rice indicated that planting of hybrid rice on 20~(th) July and 5~(th) August were at par to produce significantly higher crop growth rate (COR), net assimilation rate (NAR), leaf area index (LAI), leaf production rate (LPR) and grain yield than that of planting on 20~(th) August. The application of nitrogen up to 150 kg ha~(-1) significantly increased LPR, LAI and N concentration in third leaf as compared to other levels of nitrogen (50 and 100 kg ha~(-1)). The grain yield increased significantly with the application of 100 kg N ha~(-1).
