摘要

The effect of rice tungro virus (RTV) on growth and yield components of 3 rice cultivars (TN-1, IR 34 and Saket 4) were studied. TN 1 and IR 34 showed 100% infection by RTV, irrespective of growth stage at inoculation. RTV infection caused considerable damage to the susceptible cultivar TN 1 and the tolerant cultivar IR 34 by reduction in plant height, percentage of panicle bearing tillers, grain weight and grain yield while the resistant cultivar Saket 4 was not affected either in terms of growthcomponents or yield.
