摘要

Six indica and nine japonica cultivated genotypes and two indica-japonica derivatives (Ponni and White Ponni) were utilised for hybridization to generate 37 F_1 hybrids. F_1 anther derived doubled haploid lines showed higher pollen and spikelet fertility compared to their interracial hybrids. The results suggest that the barrier to realising genetic recombination from the partially fertile hybrids and slow fixation in the indica/japonica hybridization could be overcome through culturing of F_1 anthers and obtaining doubled haploids, which are highly fertile true breeding homozygous lines.
