Comparative performance of photosensitive varieties under extreme late planted conditions in North Bihar Alluvial Plains

Result of a field experiment carried out during wet season of 1996 and 1997 to evaluate the comparative performance of three types of rice varieties under extreme late planted conditions revealed that upto 21st Aug, coarse aman type and afterwards upto 31st Aug. the coarse and fine aman rice varieties are suitable for planting. In first week of Sep., only fine aman rice varieties were found suitable. High yielding varieties were not found suitable for extreme late planted conditions.
