Evaluation of effective spraying schedule of a systemic fungicide carbendazim to control leaf scald disease of rice

To find out an effective economic spray schedule of carbendazim for controlling leaf scald disease of rice field evaluation trialswere conducted during the wet seasons of the years 1990, 1991 and 1992. The chemical was applied as single, double or triple sprays at 0.1 per cent concentration at different intervals after the appearance of the disease. The disease was significantly reduced in all the spray treatments. However, three spray application at 15 days intervals after the disease appearance showed significant reduction in disease incidence and higher yield as compared to other schedules studied.
