Effect of nursery fertilization with farmyard manure (FYM), decomposed Gliricidia leaves (DGL), urea and diammonium phosphate (DAP), each at 60 and 120 kg N ha~(-1), on seedling growth, yield and yield components of rainfed lowland rice (cv. Manasarovar) was studied during 1995 and 1996 wet season. Seedling quality had improved by 202, 198, 112 and 302% with the application of urea, DAP, DGL and FYM at 60 kg N ha~(-1), respectively. It was advisable to apply the FYM only at 60 kg N ha~(-1) for getting healthy seedlings for their successful transplanting under 15-30 cm water depth and ultimately obtaining higher grain yield of rice.
