The Stark effect is measured on holes in the absorption spectrum of Zn-phthalocyanine in polyvinyl butyral at 4.2 K using tunable diode lasers. Both linear and quadratic Stark effects were observed. Comparison of the experimental data with the results of model calculations gives average values of the change in the induced dipole moment (Δμ_(ind))-bar = 0.105 D, in the polarizability tensor Δα = 62 A~3, and of the local field (E-bar)_i = 7 * 10~5 V/cm.
