Objective: To investigate the performance of spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT) and scanning laser polarimetry to detect progressive retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) changes and to determine whether reduction of the RNFL retardance occurred before thinning of the RNFL in glaucoma.
