摘要

Scattering of light gives information about the nature of the wave and its interaction with matter. Homogeneous and evanescent waves are elastically scattered by metallic nanoparticles (NPs) in a different manner. In the present article, we will establish a method that shows the differences between homogeneous and evanescent waves by the analysis of the intensity scattered by NPs. Such a comparison is facilitated in the frame of spatial frequencies and leads to unambiguous characterization of the homogeneous or evanescent nature of the waves that are scattered.
