The paper describes a method which is based on the well-known bipath technique with two collinear lidars for studying the atmosphere ranges located between them. The presented method proposes to use single or two non-directional light pulses for determining the light extinction coefficient in remote regions of atmosphere, underwater or space. For generation of flashes, the irradiation of different objects or non-linear processes generated by intense laser beams are proposed.
