Transition from local to nonlocal photorefractive nonlinearity on increasing spatial dimensionality

摘要

An exact analytical description of the two-dimensional electric field induced by an elliptical flat-top-hat optical beam in photorefractive media under steady-state conditions has been obtained. By means of the found results, a transition from a local to a nonlocal anisotropic response has been shown to occur when the light beam changes from an one-dimensional to a two-dimensional distribution.
