THE GENERATION OF TUNABLE BLUE PS-LIGHT-PULSES FROM A CW MODE-LOCKED LBO OPTICAL PARAMETRIC OSCILLATOR

Cw mode-locked operation of a noncritically phase-matched temperature tuned LBO optical parametric oscillator pumped by the third harmonic radiation of a cw mode-locked Nd:YLF laser is reported. Pumped with 1.7 W UV average power the OPO produces tunable 15 ps long light pulses in the blue spectral range between 453 nm and 472 nm at a repetition rate of 75 MHz with average output powers of up to 275 mW.
