摘要

The possibility of writing permanent birefringent structures with controllable microscopic dimensions in fused silica platelets was demonstrated. Imprinting was made using a regeneratively amplified Ti:sapphire laser delivering pulses femtosecond pulses of 4 μJ maximum energy per pulse. The birefringence properties of the transmission gratings and of a quasi-uniform laser was established.
