摘要

We show what we believe to be the first experimental demonstration that second order distributed Raman amplifiers exhibit an increase in the level of double Rayleigh back-scattering compared to only first order pumped amplifiers. We also demonstrate that, despite this increase in double back-scattered light, improvements in overall system performance are possible.
