摘要

The relationship between cascaded Mach-Zehnder interferometers (MZIs) of different forms is studied. A flat-top interleaver based on cascaded MZIs with optical delay lines of equal length and same sign is optimally designed. An optimization method which combines the genetic algorithm and a gradient method is used to find appropriate net coupling for the directional couplers. The chromatic dispersion is also discussed.
