Sheet metal has numerous uses in the world around us. We see it everyday for example in the form of cars, trucks, domestic appliances and the modern 'construction industry - high rise buildings, supermarket and other large stores. It is of course in use but often hidden in side the every day things of modern life - iPods, mobile phones, televisions, DVD players, to name a few. Where you may not expect to see sheet metal in abundance is in art. However, if you happen to travel through Cannock in the West Midlands you will see a striking example of sheet metal sculpture on a roundabout on the A34 road. The stainless steel Sculpture was commissioned by Cannock Council to commemorate the Mining Industry that was once the major industry in the area.
