The international bariatric club - A worldwide web educational network for bariatric professionals

The International Bariatric Club (D3C) is a free, non-profit-making organization open to all bariatric surgery/medicine professionals with the primary aim of education. The IBC is easily accessible through a dedicated website (www.ibcclub.org) which was launched in March 2012. The IBC was conceived by Tomasz Rogula, Assistant Professor of Surgery and Philip Schauer, Professor of Surgery from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA in 2008. Initially, the club consisted simply of a monthly seminar broadcast over the internet with the help of WebEx (web conferencing), based at the Cleveland Clinic campuses in Ohio and Florida. These 1-hour talks were built within the curricula of the Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy/Bariatric Surgery of both institutions.
