摘要

Emerging countries are often considered as hot destinations for private investments owing to their history of rapid growth. For example, while most of the developed economies experienced anemic growth and in some cases shrinkage during 2008 to 2011, the Chinese economy grew at an average rate of 9 percent. During the same time the Indian economy grew at near a 7 percent rate and Brazil at close to 4 percent. In 2010 China's GDP of $5.88 trillion surpassed that of Japan's $5.47 trillion to become the world's second largest economy after the United States. Brazil's GDP surpassed the United Kingdom to become the sixth largest economy of the world.
