The year-end 2007 British Columbia land sale captured a lot of attention for beating out Alberta land sale revenues for the first time as well as for the 300 million that producers paid to secure shale prospects. Now a new report by Wood Mackenzie should make the north-eastern corner of British Columbia even more interesting. It estimates the recoverable natural gas resource in the play is 37 trillion cubic feet, comparable in size to the reserves held in the main fields slated to supply the proposed Alaska Gas Pipeline.
