In 2000,Alberta Energy Company purchased the Jonah Field,a giant natural gas reservoir beneath the western Wyoming prairies,for CDNUS910 million.Since then(and since AEC morphed into EnCana),the field has proved more valuable than anyone imagined.Jonah contains a mother-lode of gas in a relatively small area,25 times the amount per acre as accessible in other major Wyoming fields.
