AUSTRALIA'S JACKA RESOURCES is set to gain the exploration and production rights over the entire onshore Ruhuhu basin in Tanzania, following exclusive negotiations with state-run Petroleum & Development Corporation (TPDC). Jacka said it would hold 100 per cent equity and be the operator of the 8,400 sq km licence, subject to the negotiation of a production sharing agreement. The Ruhuhu basin lies fully onshore in southern Tanzania and abuts Lake Nyasa on the north-east shores and is one of a chain of Karoo basins across southern Africa.
