摘要

Zernov phyllophora field located in the center of the northwestern part of the Black Sea is a unique phenomenon of nature, because it is the greatest accumulation of red algae. There, five species of Phyllophora occur, among which the nonfixing alga Phyllophora nervosa dominates (more than 80%). The use of traditional procedures for collection and handling of the expedition materials leads us to a situation when one part of the problems concerning field biology and ecology remains beyond the researchers' attention and the other part remains at the level of a hypothesis. These are the problems to which the main part of the book reviewed is devoted.
