Primarymalignant hepatobiliary tumors include hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, and gallbladder cancer. The importance of PET imaging for these malignancies varies depending on the location and the type of the tumor. The value of PET for the detection of primitive hepatobiliary tumors is still controversial but very useful for staging and prognosis.
