CNOOC Gets LNG Terminal Nod

China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) has received approval from the environmental protection ministry to build an LNG receiving terminal in Jieyang, Guangdong province. The ministry said on its website that the terminal will cost an estimated 8.8 billion yuan ($1.3 billion) and will have a berth that can accommodate vessels of between 80,000 and 267,000 cubic meters; this would allow it to take Qatar's giant Q-Max tankers. It will also have a 270 km gas pipeline.
