Amazon cloud edition of Paradigm's Sysdrill offers desktop functionality sans the IT infrastructure. Paradigm plans to extend cloud offering to Geolog and other apps. Sysdrill, Paradigm's well planning and drilling engineering solution, is now available on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. Cloud deployment promises rapid provisioning, simplified management and lower costs. CEO Arshad Matin said, 'Cloud computing is one of the most important macro-trends in IT infrastructure but E&P software vendors have yet to make its benefits available to customers who should be able to focus on the application rather than the infrastructure. With today's announcement, Paradigm enables customers to do just that.'
