Following last month's 'monster' order for its SemStar5 subsea computer, we quizzed GE Oil & Gas on its developing role in the 'digital oilfield.' As bandwidth between subsea and topside systems improves, we wondered to what extent these hitherto autonomous systems are being integrated with topside control systems.
