Nexen Starts Syncrude Output

Nexen said it has started producing synthetic crude from its C$6.1 billion (US$5 billion) Long Lake, Alberta, oil sands project. Nexen, Canada's fourth-largest indepen- dent oil producer, said it will take 12-18 months before the upgrading plant at the site produces at its full capacity of 60,000 b/d.
