Shallow Drilling Resumes in Gulf

Federal regulators Wednesday approved its first oil and natural gas well in the shallow-water Gulf of Mexico since a federal moratorium on offshore drilling was lifted at the end of May, according to the Associated Press. The Minerals Management Service (MMS) reportedly granted a drilling permit to Bandon Oil and Gas for a site 50 miles off the coast of Louisiana in 115 feet of water.
