Saudi Arabia Could Import LNG From US

Saudi Arabia's growing gas needs were not an official program topic at last week's CWC World LNG Summit in Barcelona, Spain, but the subject was much discussed during the conference's various networking and social events. The kingdom is known to be looking for additional gas supplies to meet growing domestic demand for residential/commercial uses and its expanding refining and petrochemical sectors. Equally important future markets for gas are electricity generation and water desalination, which at present are primarily powered by diesel or gasoil-two valuable middle-distillate fuels.
