摘要

The Government of Maharashtra showed its softer face and agreed to roll back the22 hike on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). On Monday, 26th March, finance minister Ajit Pawar announced a 5% tax on LPG cylinders for domestic use, which amounts to a hike of 22 per cylinder, in the state budget. However, by Tuesday itself, the decision stood reversed, a Congress delegation, led by state Congress chief Manikrao Thakre, met chief minister Prithviraj Chavan. "Congress members felt the price hike was not justified and urged the CM to withdraw it," said Thakre. After the discussion, Chavan promised to take up the matter with the finance minister.
