This article describes the Yanbu gas plant's dehydration facility and the plant's encounter with solid-desiccant deterioration in October 2006.Identified are the main contributing factors that have resulted in acceleration of bed decomposition.The article also provides a list of the most common operational mistakes that eventually wind up as adopted practices for operating dehydration units.
